Tomorrow I head to Dallas, home of this year’s Wrestlmania.
Besides the Super Bowl, Wrestlemania is the biggest single-day sports event of the year. This year, I’ve been tapped by my former client and long-time collaborator, Wale, to help executive produce WaleMania.
WaleMania is the quintessential hip-hop and wrestling event, taking place (almost) every year during Wrestelemania. Now in its sixth year, WaleMania had to take a few years off because of Covid. It’s so exciting to be coming back in person. From superstar guest wrestlers to a Wale & Friends performance, you never know who is going to pop up.
Speaking of pop-up, Foot Locker has an activation at our venue for the event, The House Of Blues, to showcase Wale’s latest wrestling-inspired clothing drop. You can only get it at the venue.
My partner and co-executive producer for the event is the extremely talented Kaz, who will be recording his The Masked Man show live from the event. It will feature all sorts of awesome cameos and special moments. Thank you to Spotify for helping support the live taping.
It’s going to be an awesome night and a tribute to culture in a fresh, creative way. Wale continues to be one of the most underrated trendspotters in the business. I’m thrilled to be a part of this all-star team. Pull up if you’re in town! Tickets are here.
Then I’ll head home to Miami for NFT Miami Weekend, which is the place to be if you’re not nominated for a Grammy 😉 It’s the inaugural event but it already feels like it’s going to be a classic. Our panel on music, entertainment, and NFTs kicks off Saturday morning, and I’ve been asked to MC a portion of the morning session as well. It’s not too late to get your tickets and connect.
Stick around if you’re in town, as The Bitcoin conference pops off next week as well.
On another note, I’m excited to announce that this week was the first installment of my new monthly column, “Beats, Bytes and Brands,” with Adweek. Each month, Clayton Durant and I will be breaking down the newest trends and activations converging across the music industry and brand marketing. For the first segment, we wrote the brand playbook on how to create a successful livestream activation. Nothing like this – with this many tips in one place – is available anywhere else, so if you’re thinking about doing a livestream, you’ll definitely dig it.
As always, feel free to reach out with questions, ideas or feedback!
