When Crowdcentric Media — the company behind Social Media Week and the recently launched streaming platform, SMW+ — approached me about hosting and executive producing a series, I was excited about the idea. Now, the final product has me even more hype.
Beats, Bytes and Brands is an eight-part series about the future of music marketing and the intersection of music, culture, technology, and social media. Episodes bring together leaders in music, technology, and marketing, including: Triller’s Chief Growth Officer, Bonin Bough; Fabrice Sergent, the founder of Bandsintown; Tuma Basa, the Head of Black Music at YouTube; and Raphi Lima, Head of Global Music Partnerships & Marketing at Electronic Arts.
For season one we tap into the indie music scene, artist partnerships, brand partnerships, music x gaming, how brands can craft a music strategy, and the power of playlist culture. The show also features spotlight creators on Triller, including Murda Beatz, Martine Beerman, DaniLeigh, and Dixie D’Amelio.
Episode 1 kicks off today at 1pm ET! I’m joined by Jesus Malverde Gonzalez, President & Co-Founder of Sonus Agency, to talk about the state of music marketing and what makes it so impactful.
Beats, Bytes and Brands, presented by Triller, broadcasts live on SMW+, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. It is also available on-demand on SMW+. Visit smw.plus/discover to activate a free trial subscription.
As part of the new series launch, I wanted to show love to a budding small business I believe in. If you know me well, you know I love tennis. Tennis is a microcosm of life. But as a business, it’s an old boys club and there aren’t many new players jumping into the space. Furi Sport is trying to change that.
I met the owners, through a friend from my home courts in BK. Their racquets are a pure delight, with more power, more control, and more pop than I’ve ever experienced. Their accompanying lifestyle brand, The Fantom Project, is pure fire. It’s Paris meets Brooklyn but with Japanese comfort, and I rocked it on every episode of Beats, Bytes, and Brands. Consider it “Tennis Après.” I highly recommend grabbing their racquets and wares this holiday season. Dream big and let it fly!
