This month an exhibit opened in NYC called “The Moment The Music Stopped”. The exhibit brings us through the in-depth story of what happened at the Novo Music Festival in Israel and its larger impact on the world and on music.
This installation stands in remembrance of the tragic events that unfolded during the Nova Music Festival on October 7th 2023, and will allow attendees to learn and grieve this tragedy.
Putting politics, religion, and borders aside, one point music fans can agree on is that the Novo Festival masacre was just horrific. This reminds me of the Las Vegas and Manchester attacks and makes me wonder… when will this stop?
Music brings us all together. It heals us. It’s the spirit of connection. It’s the heartbeat of humanity. As a music lover and avid festival attender, it pains me that we no longer have our safe spaces to enjoy live music. We are now called upon to move forward and figure out new ways to make these events safe and never let the music stop. The show must go on.
I implore you to go and see this powerful and moving exhibit. It’s a must-see right now in culture in the next few weeks. Tickets are $1. All proceeds from the event go directly to the Nova Healing Journey, a therapeutic and social solution for survivors. Here is a link to support.
