Wale x BET- Best New Artist Nomination.
DC’s own, Wale, has been nominated for a BET Award in the “Best New Artist” category.
Following a slew of critically acclaimed mixtapes and earning a spot on XXL’s 2009 Freshman 10, Wale, born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin to Nigerian parents in DC, released his first album, Attention Deficit, in 2009.
Other artists nominated in the category include Nicki Minaj, BOB, Young Money and singer Melanie Fiona.
